The buildings along the shore were originally painted white, but some important historical figure didn't like the glare because it hurt his eyes, hence the colors. The tradition probably continues for the tourists.

To the left is an inlet lined with boats. They dock and set up small stands; selling fish and produce from neighboring areas.
